Default Sat Nav

I've just popped down to Halfords to have a look at their Sat Nav systems as I've decided to get one. I was originally intended to get the Tom Tom Go, but am thinking again given that the Europe map is another

I have a Tomtom Go (the original one). Mine came with the main roads of Europe which you can upload on the SD card if you need to, not sure if they still come with that.

I have to admit its really good and you can download the speed camera data base which is useful.

I have found the customer services to be pretty good (though touch wood, nothing has gone wrong yet) as I get emails when there are updates and new donloads for it.

The window mount is quite neat and does not take up to much room on the dash and because Tom tom has a built in battery/aerial you dont have wires trailing everywhere which you would with a pda.

Just my opinion

I have some software called Navigator for my laptop which contains European maps. Allied to a USB GPS unit it works pretty well (at least in and around Watford!). You can download scameras etc from the various online databases.

I use a Medion PDA different model but the same thing in essence.
It use's Navigon software. I also have the TomTom software here but have never used it. For the money you get all the functionality of a PDA, satnav and all the european maps. Bargain
