Default SatNav Mount

I'm not a big fan of satnavs suckered onto the screen and even less of a fan of plates and mounts on the dash.

I want something for my Garmin Nuvi 760 that keeps it secure while driving, not on the screen and can help hide the power and audio cables. When not in use I don't really want to see any empty mounts etc.

I've seen a homemade mount on the US section where they mounted onto one of the pegs for the string bag in the passenger footwell. Then a flexi mount to the top.

What does everyone else use?

Modifry makes the only acceptable (and importantly professional looking) dash mount imo. The ones on the tunnel/low down are pure gash.

I've got a modifry 4" mount. It is neat and tidy, but a little on the thin side. With the weight of my Tomtom XL on the end of it, it tends to 'boing' back and fore a little. However, I araldited a strip of steel to the back of it, which solved the problem. But it's come off, the mount seems to be araldite proof! Think I'll do the same again, but take some paint off first.

I have and still am looking at that as an option but I'm not convinced it's going to look nice when the sat nav is not fitted.

A real man knows his way without maps or satnav. It's a driver's car not a tool for getting you from a) to b).
