Default Seals

Okay i greased the runners and seals amongst other things last week on the soft top, seems to have stopped or severly reduced the leaking which is good

However on my drivers side, the main seal that joins to the other seal where the roof splits is not joining correctly it comes away and the flap doesnt join hence leaking. (in contrast to the other side which is spot on and joins up correcty). It leaks when the roof is up.

Any ideas, before i take a look at the weekend?, just wondering if anyone else had this problem?.

In the pic below it is the far left hand seal im talking about, where it joins to the other seal when the roof is up.

After all this i will write something that could be added to the FAQ for the leaking problem. As i found a few culprits, not everyone has the leaking problem but most have.

Cheers

Aj

Hi AJ,

I two have a seal that matches up great and the other one doesn't, I just took this as the norm. I found by greasing all the seals every 3-4 months, I never seem to have any leaks.

Let us know how you get on

Thanks Col, yeah the passenger side is fine.

But i cant remember exactly how they link up to the roof, just wondering if anyone has had this problem and sorted it.

The problem is the water in most cases gradually gets in and builds up, it sits in the runners.

AE,

I had a new roof fitted back in Feb this year, car is an MY00, and I've just realised ive never ever greased the seals in the year ive had the car, and I regularly get leaks in the front corners of the roof where it meets the top front of the door windows before they go down towards the wing mirrors... will replacing my seals resolve this issue?
