I don't recall if I used it or not TBH. I would guess from your question that using would be a bad thing?

Update.

Hats off to Theairflowcompany on ebay. They agreed to an immediate exchange of sensors - "that's what a warranty is for" was their exact phrase - so the new one went on and all was well.

For a day.

And bugger me the light is back on again with a P0132 code just as before. I took the sensor back out, double checked all the connections but only one journey before it went on again.

Any ideas from the floor please?

Difficult to say really.

The sensor may be ok, and it may be your wiring onto the sensor or even a bad air leak before the lambda.

It doesn't sound like there is an air leak. How far back is the wiring likely to be suspect? If it is beyond the plastic socket it must be a horrible job to sort out.
