Allan, I'm sure I sourced my G2 paint from within the UK
Did you not have any success tracking it down? It may not be labelled as G2 over here (my memory is poor).

I did search for G2 but no success. I don't mind which one but don't want the pealing the 'alfords one suffered.
The whole point of Paypal is that they handle the credit card transaction on behalf of the trader - so all the trader gets is an email from Paypal that the payment was successful.
If there's a query over your card, it'll come from Paypal not the trader.
They're obviously trying something on there - get that order cancelled and report them to Paypal.

Alex,
The payment was funded from existing Pay Pal funds. No Credit Cards or Bank Account needed to top up or anything.
I'm about to through it into the resolution centre.
I'm thinking of this http://www.speeding.co.uk/acatalog/Car_Acc..._Style_110.html Savage Calliper Paint?

Allan, I'm not so sure it's a scam. Waaaaaay back in the dim and distance past when I was a single man with bucketloads of disposable income
I looked into buying a Tag Heuer watch from a US online seller as it was considerably cheaper than buying the same watch in the UK, even allowing for shipping and duty.
I was recommended one particular seller and checked out their website. It explained that for overseas transactions (and for that matter, certain domestic US transactions) they had to go through a process which, from memory, was exactly what you have set out above, in order to comply with obligations imposed by them by the credit card companies.
The idea is pretty obvioulsy that if you actually have the card and are the person you are claiming to be when ordering, you won't have a problem in faxing a copy of the card to them to confirm that and allow them to take reasonable precautions to ensure that the goods aren't being bought with a stolen card.
In the end, I didn't order and bought one on the never-never over the counter in this country. But the seller I was looking at came with a gilt-edged reputation so I doubt it was a scam.

But in this instance the goods have been paid for by Cleared Pay Pal Funds, my Pay Pal Account is still in credit and was at the time of this transaction.
My Pay Pal Status is verified, my address is the same as the order, and my account is (329) Verified GB Business Pay Pal Member For: 5 years?
Why do they need my Credit Card?
If it smells like a banana and it feels like a banana and it looks like a banana and it tastes like a banana, it's probably a banana!
This one smells, feels, looks and tastes like a scam?
It's the fact that it's paid for with cleared funds, it's not like I'm buying some $4000 watch, it's Calliper paint FFS.
It's cancelled and with Pay Pal now, but according to them they'll cancel in 72 hours. I'm off to buy that Savage stuff.
Allan,
Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention but I don't know what is going on here? Did you speak to them and did they verify this to you or could it be that someone else has got into their system?
I wouldn't be happy at all to provide what they are asking for and the only reason for the link on my site is because I bought it from them and never did any of what they are asking. I input my card details and it was posted out. I had it delivered a week later.
If this is how they are now operating I will remove their link from my site. If you get no joy with Savage or G2 in the UK then try Decalgirl as they too sell G2 paint.
Cheers
RS
