I agree that it's not right and something's probably "up".
My guess would be an administrative error at their end, and give them chance to reply. But then I'm gullible like that.

When I paid the deposit for the wedding at Caesars they needed a fax of the front and back of my Amex card.
I thought if you can't trust a big casino like Caesars Palace, who can you trust?

They've had my reply for some time and have not responded, they obviously don't think it's an issue.
