Default Seizure!

After reading a post found below Re. Map sensor sticking. I began to ponder on what other parts may require the once over before I start my car. My S has sat waiting for repairs for three months. I fear other components may suffer from lack of use and figure that a little preventive maintenance may sort this. Has anyone come across any other issues after letting there car sit for a while undriven? I'm aware of A/C issues. Does anyone have any advice of servicing before I start the system and bugger it completely. Also please PM details of how to service the Map sensor, if anyone has experienced this breakdown in the past.
Cheers
JCP

Probably best to change the engine oil. The oil will have drained out of the head completely. Usually best to turn the engine over on the starter motor before starting it. I'm not sure the best way to do this on the S. Maybe disconnecting the coils???? The fuel could have started to break down in the tank, so don't labour the car until you've got a full tank of new fuel in. Clutch and brakes could have have rusted, only a problem if they have rusted on, in which case they will need freeing. Otherwise just take it easy for the first few applications. You should be keeping the battery charged when in storage. If the battery goes completely flat, the alarm will go into tamper mode! If feasible, you should store it with the wheels off the ground, otherwise it could deform the tyres. The S02's have quite tough tyrewalls, so maybe not too much of a problem. Just check the pressures.

It's probably a good idea to wedge the clutch pedal to the floor to prevent it sticking - bit of a b*gger to free if it siezes to the flywheel
