Shmokey wheel refurb
Just got my alloys refurbed in smoked chrome. Massive thank you to gbduo for lending me his 16's while these where away!
I had them diamond cut refurbed before but it only lasted a couple of years (if that, probably started to degrade after year 1) and was looking badly corroded, so no more diamond cut for me. Hopefully this should last. I think this finish looks pretty much just as good though:

This was done by Pristine Wheels, think they've done a great job.

No worries, phoning BT is bound to equal queuing. I meant to get you some beers to say thanks, and forgot to stop at the shops on the way! Always a bit brain dead after work. I can't imagine how you get a lowered s2000 down that road you're on! It was like a WRC stage in the Celica.

The smoked chrome was a more expensive finish, think it was an extra £20 a wheel over a standard finish plus £4.50 per centre cap.
Grand total collected and delivered was £458. They did some repairs free of charge apparently (don't know what that involved).
On top of that you've gotta get the tyres off and back on, so it'd be better to do it at the same time you're changing tyres.
Another option could have been getting another set of wheels, but I like the oem's and am happy with the result. Pristine seem to have a good reputation, and an in depth process. Considering the paint was just falling off from the last refurb (not by Pristine) I'm hoping I've paid for some lasting quality, fingers crossed.

They look really nice! I've seen how they do this finish, I believe that they spray black paint over the wheels before hand and then spray the silver over the top? I think that's the case anyway. Wheeler Dealers did it on the Aston DB7 they did.

That's correct, behind the front face the rest of the wheel is black.
