Should Non-Members be able to list items for sale?

Anyone here belong to a club? A gym perhaps? Something you pay for.
I expect there is a notice board - there is at the sailing club I belong to. Members are able to post ads there and it's useful.
Now funnily enough, we don't allow someone to wander in off the street and advertise their mint cabin cruiser on our board foc.
They would be even less welcome if they came in, propped up the bar, got a lot of advice on what boat to buy and then said our moorings were crap anyway.
What's the difference, beyond the fact that S2K permits this behaviour?
As for the idea that I might miss out on some bargain if non-members were not allowed to posts ads - do me a favour. But it's possible, even if unlikely, and I accept that.
So I'll ask again, what's the problem with advertisers paying

I don't have an axe to grind on this, but I tend to think a fee to advertise isn't unreasonable at all.
A compromise could be to allow non - members to advertise S2000 related items, after all, that potentially stands to benefit everyone, but charge them if they wish to sell their mountain bikes, dish washers and surgical supports.

My vote was "no", because the more people there are looking at somehing for sale then surely it follows that a succesful sale is more likely? Also, new visitors to the site could find the S2000 they want for sale here and may then pay at a later time to join S2ki once an owner?
I agree the site should be supported financially because it is a good resource and can save you money too (I think I have probably saved

mikey k and you looked like an intelligent sort?
I think we can agree the poll is ed and that's a fact.
Another Poll? Maybe but at least some have got the idea that it is ONLY the F/S forum I was talking about. If you're not a member no you can't sell didly squat. Members can sell what they like.
