Default Someone ran into me last night

Hello,

So after an hour drive to my girlfriends house last night being extremely careful as it's the first time I've driven a rwd car in heavy snow, someone ploughed into the back of me.

I was turning into a side road from a 60mph dual carriageway, and as the snow was a couple of inches deep I slowed down carefully to about 20mph about 100 yards from my turning and indicated, the van behind me saw and carefully overtook me but the car behind must have been going too fast and ended up drifting sideways and going sideways into me.

The damage on my car looks minimal however the boot lid is damaged and I think the boot floor has warped a bit, along with rear bumper damage.

I'll post photos up in a few minutes but my questions are:

Do you think there might be underlying damage?
Does anyone know of a decent repair show or good honda garage in the Wolverhampton/Dudley/Stafford area? Or even Birmingham at a push

Thanks in advance

Pics to come soon

when i bent mine, it went via insurance to http://www.bodykraft.co.uk/
aside from going back for a respray (colour mis-match!) the repair itself was pretty good.

Go through your insurance. I would not take it to a local Honda dealer, but to a body specialist. You will not know about any damage till someone qualified looks at it.

I hope you didn't suffer any head or neck injury from being hit from behind. I was in a rear end shunt while I was standing still last year and I'm still dealing with the injury. How fast was this idiot going when he hit you and how fast where you going?

Cheers for the replies, I've used bodycraft before and I ended up needing to go back in twice after they did damage to other parts of the car.

Fortunately my neck and back seems ok, I was going 20 and he was going about 40-50, I'm glad it was snowy as when he hit i slid forward. If I had grip I reckon it would be worse.

I'll give those guys a try in Cannock, thanks

I just hope my geo and wheel alignment is ok as I hit the curb when trying to fight for control again.

Best of luck with the repairs, good to hear you're ok. People just don't realise how big a gap they need to leave to the vehicle in front in these bad conditions.

Arrgh what a nightmare for you, Glad you are ok and I hope you get it sorted quickly and easily and to your satisfaction.

There are far too many numpties on the roads who seem to believe that their car, no matter what the weather, will stop on a sixpence. Bloody idiots.

Had an idiot driver drive like it was dry and very close for comfort. I put the hazard lights on and he/she understood after that and kept a respectable distance. Hate idiots.

I used Roger Chetter Body Repairs Ltd - 01902 717132 - to get my bumpers done not long ago. They got the paint match spot on. Based in Wolverhampton.

I've never used them for anything panel related but I know people who have and they do a cracking job on close inspection.
