Dont drive around untaxed though, every motorway in the country had registration recognition cameras on (the little white ones) so they'll know you've been on the road!
Are you SURE about this? Those white things that point down on those bridges are no more than traffic counters I believe.

You can declare SORN on the web , they then send you a letter of confirmation .

the ones that point donw on bridges are (theyre greyish colour) the blue ones are (were?) traffic master and the white ones are reg readers.

Have a looks on the speedcamera websites.

It's the English Bill of Rights.

And it's perfectly valid as a defence - used it myself to wriggle out of a parking ticket as the town council had subcontracted the parking enforcement to a company.
The English Bill of Rights may be a valid defence, but the British Constitution of 1689 isn't.

(But obviously a bit late now)

That's what I did last year. Instant email receipt.

My car is still SORN and now out of MOT too. Aswell as needing a service

Can I legally drive it to the garage for MOT and service in one then tax it on the way home?

You can drive it to a registered MOT station as long as you have a pre booked session.

As for the tax issue I have no idea whatsoever, bit of a catch 22 situation really.

Probably safer to drive straight home and go get the tax in the beater
