Default Speeding

A4 SP30

3 points £60 fine....

I had a clean license so didn't think this would be much if anything on my insurance policy... wrong....

My renewal came in at £680.... Then I updated the policy for the speeding... Its now up to £1012... I have 7 Years Protected No Claims...

Went on to gocompare.com and its the same results... all £1k plus....

Anyone got any insurance company they can recommend me?

I went on GoCompare and ended up paying just over £900.00.
I have 3 points which I got back in 2006 and 9 years protected no claims. That was the best price I could get!!

All depends on postcode and age really.
Over a 3rd of drivers on the road now have 3 points or more!!!

Try A-plan

They seemed to always give me the best deal

I had 6 points, now down to 3. My insurers, Liverpool Victoria, didn't charge any more. I told them about the points as soon as I got them, and when I got up to 6 they said their policy is only to increase the premium at 9+ points.

This was a couple of years ago so things may have changed now, and I do live in a pretty cheap area for insurance. Oh yeah, and I'm old as dirt, well almost

When I got my disqualification for speeding back in 2004, Direct Line was the only insurer who didn't hike my premium.

Got to admit I didn't think most insurers gave a toss about 3 points as most people seem to have them now. When I rang my insurers recently to advise of my partners 6 points they said not to worry about it until renewal time.

Not looking forward to getting quotes for my policy in June....

Give Sky Insurance a ring they are fantastic and if you prove your a member of this site they will give you a 10% discount on your quote. I have just been insured with them. I am 28, 5 years protected and my insurance is just a few quid over £700.

Was the best I could get after ringing around for 2 weeks after originally being quoted £3000

Chris Knott come highly recommended by people in the forum.
I use them myself but I don't have any points rights now, got to be worth a phone call though.

I'm with Swift. £770 with 5 years no claims, having had a write-off crash in January (age 31) which I felt was OK.

Have had 3 points with Swiftcover in the past on a previous policy, and it didn't affect my premium noticeably.
