Just bought a spoon ecu off ebay
just want to know if there's anything i need to do before installing the thing

i read a few threads where it will disable the immobiliser....
that's not good i take it is there anyway round this ?

spoon europe are selling ECU's which will work with immobilisers

Best of luck. At least two members here running Spoon ECUs have seen their engines go pop.....

The OEM Honda immobiliser is built into the ecu. If you change ecu's you need to get your keys reprogrammed.

I would be surprised if the Spoon ecu did have an imobiliser. One way to find out is to plug it in and start the car up.

(How much did you get the ecu for?)

does anyone know if the immobiliser is a removable erpom on the original ecu if so maybe it can be transfered to the new ecu

In neither of which case was there anything to suggest that the ECU contributed to the failures in anyway whatsoever. The Spoon ECU has been run safely on a number of UK cars.

mugen888 - no. The map's are on the processor, not an eeprom.

There are a couple of wiring changes you will need to make , mainly for the fuel pump. Id speak to Ant at Spoon b4 u do anything
