Default Squeeky Seatbelt

Right, the time has come to put an end to my annoying squeeky seatbelt . I've tried feeding the leather underneath it, which cures it for a very short time, so it's definitely the part where it rubs the seat. But alas, I'm too much of a short-@rse for my shoulders to hold the belt away from the leather, so I need to find a permanent cure. I don't really want to do anything to the seatbelt, for obvious reasons, so I was wondering if anyone had any cunning ideas that don't mean I have to put anything unsightly on the seat (someone suggested sticking a plaster on it , but I don't think pink on black would look too great! ).

So over to you, forum gurus!

A grand prize of self satisfaction to the winning idea.

Put a 2" square of black felt under the belt guide - sorted!

SUCH an annoying noise! I fixed it by putting a small piece of black felt (from any craft shop) underneath the belt where it comes out of the guide on the side of the seat. I didn't want to stick it on, so I just tucked the end of the felt into the guide a short way, to secure it. It hasn't come out in over 3 months of use, and the squeek has gone.

You need a very thin piece of felt, otherwise the selt belt rectracts very slowly when you take it off, as the felt impedes it somewhat. For that reason, I must make a note to myself to remove the felt before the car goes in for its MOT in March!

Felt it is then! Cheers guys. Wouldn't have thought it would affect the MOT though.

Get a pack of sticky backed felt and you can line your glovebox at the same time to stop things rattling about.
