Stability control system
[QUOTE=Shopman,Oct 24 2007, 02:44 PM]Sorry, I have not said that and am not saying anything of the kind.
I am saying it is a tool for enjoying the car safely if you are not a 'Driving God' and even Eddie and Michael seem to think it has its uses.
The old 'Driver Training' thing always comes up but the vast majority of people don't have the time or the inclination.
They just don't want to put the car backwards into a hedge due to one silly mistake and at the same want to enjoy driving it spiritedly without the fear of doing so.
Folks spend fortunes on exhausts, intakes etc which probably on the whole are detrimental to the performance of the car.

To me the s is a cross over car - best of the elise/track cars + the every day usability of a boxster/350z/tt - at least thas why i bought it. i have one foot in one world some of the time (when im driving 90 miles a day on my commute rain, ice,or shine or my girlfriend is driving) and one in the other the rest of the time (when im driving the car purely for fun and enjoyment on road and occationally track). The race logic tc has been very nice for the former application - much better (less intrusive and adjustable) than the s Works i previously owned. Just saying this to re-emphasise my vote of confidence for those that are thinking of purchasing. Im happy to answer any ?s about the system for any of you in this boat. Very valid comments for all on this topic!

[QUOTE=ge2,Oct 24 2007, 04:06 PM] OK fair enough I misunderstood you but as has been said before, TC is only going to help out with one type of mistake, too much throttle. That's it. Nothing else.
I've got no doubt it's still a good thing to have for that one reason but it's not going to instantly make the car foolproof. To use it intelligently you still need to understand the effects of the other controls, and guess what the safest way to learn that is....
I appreciate most people aren't interesting in learning about the more nerdy aspects of driving fast, but if that's the case driving fast and the S are probably not a good combination.
Driver training has got nothing to do with being a macho driving god, it's about being aware of how things can go wrong and your ability, or lack of, to sort them out.
IMHO if you're going to spend some money on making the car safer you're better off with a day off work +

The S2000's true rivals (Caterhams, Elises, dead TVRs) don't have TC! But they are a PIA as an everyday car.
Certainly if I were to buy a new one, I most likely wouldn't uninstall VSA.
And Racelogic would be a better spend than the embarrasing aftermarket wheels chosen by some, many of which will increase the tendency to spin off by being incorrectly sized or offset.
Why is it "stability control"? Will the car tip over without it?
I guess if they called it "cornering control", or something similar, they're open to litigation from anybody who crashes. Lack of stability is harder to prove.

Thread here from Pistonheads by a guy who fitted it to a Tuscan. Worth a read.
Also been reading that it can be plugged in to a laptop and lots of stuff can be changed
Racelogic/Tuscan
Something I found re the laptop software, it states DOS only but this was written in 2002:
[QUOTE]I decided to sit down with a laptop plugged into the TC and their Manual to see if I could fix this misfire on pulling away problem. The good news is I have, and this is what I had to do.
Firstly, I am prepared to be corrected on anything I

Same thing can be said for ABS but we all know it's better to have than not.
