Angry Stolen CAT

My car's CAT was stolen yesterday from the roadside in Finchley, NW London. I've ordered a BERK HFC from sales@tarmacsportz.co.uk.which is on its way. Presumably I'll need a new lambda sensor too, since all I have are a couple of wire dangling below the car now. It looks like they've also cut off the flange at the end of my Mugen exhuast, which is a pain since I need to finde some way to extend it's piing to connect to the new CAT now. Any ideas?

First off. Shit. I hope a car drops on their heads one day soon.

Second I guess the exhaust will need a new flange and bit of pipe. Are they titanium? Would need a specialist.

Did they cut the manifold too?

The O2 in the cat is secondary lamdba sensor, not too expensive

Yes, the exhaust is titanium and it's now missing a flange. I am trying to find a specialist who can help near me (NW4), but I'm not having much luck so far.

I think that the manifold is okay altough I really need to get it up on a ramp to get a good view unless I can see it through the engine bay. It's a ceramic coated Tracy Sports TS-02, so I am hoping that's okay.

Funts - they targeted a couple of cars down our road a couple of weeks ago, including a GD Jazz?

You might have to claim for a new exhaust, if it's covered.

Ti requires specialist knowledge to weld.

I have modified car insurance that should cover the exhaust, but I am trying to avoid going down that route given that they're remarkably expensive and difficult to soruce these days: https://www.tdi-plc.com/product/s200...8000-xgs-k0s0/

I think you will have to remove the exhaust and fix it off the car, maybe use an OEM as a guide. Ti requires a pro tig welder who knows what he is doing

You could of course try to find a ti custom exhaust maker but I dunno if any exist in the UK

Sorry to hear dude, happened to me last year (october time) and was an expense I could have done without.
I didnt bother with insurance as it can get very tricky, so I just forked out the expense myself.

Your very close to me, I am near Arnos Grove.

Have a read through a post I did at the time. Should give you some help and pointers.

You would need a new flange welded on the rear section, Rich at Performance Autoworks repaired my one and salvaged my originals rear section. I was so thankful as the new rear end was bulky to buy 2nd hand and expensive new from Honda.

Rich had to cut and extend the BERK CAT itself to reach the rear OEM section. So he did some fabrication to make it all fit nicely.

Thanks for that. the update is that I've checked the manifold and it's been butched too, so I need to replace the front lambda sensor. More to the point, presumably I need to replace the manifold itself. There's probably no chance of me finding another ceramic coated Tracy Sports manifold off hand and I don't really want to reinstall the Honda original (altough that is an option and I may have to if nothing else makes financial sense), so I guess I'll see what's availabel in the increasingly quiet forum.

Pretty sure its only the tail silencers that are titanium, rest is stainless steel and shouldn't be to hard to weld.

Has anyone fitted any form of cat anti theft device to a S2000. Would be interested in knowing which make and model is suitable.

Thanks in advance.

Neil
