Watching this with great interest as mine seems to be exhibiting the same symptoms....

As Sara says, only when the car has warmed up, does not do it when cold.

if it were a wheel bearing i'd expect it to be more pronounced on a particular turn direction, if not could be a duff diff but either way it'll be warranty
Wheelbearings are usually a cyclical clicking.

Could it not be one of the power steering servos? The Teg sometimes used to make a right racket near or at full lock. I never noticed it after starting up because the autochoke always revved the engine that bit higher, but afterwards it was always more pronounced.

The noise never got any worse during 6 years of ownership.

Thanks guys for being so helpful I'm off to Belfast next week with my work so I'm going to have to wait until the following week until I get any further forward with this! I'll definitely go further afield and arrange a courtesy car.

I don't reckon this is a wheel bearing as it makes the same noise when turning in either direction, it also doesn't do it whilst crusing around corners etc, only when manouvering at slow speeds.

It is a frustrating problem, if I drive for 10 minutes and try to manovuer there is no sign of the noise at all. If I do my usual drive to work which is 25 miles, 15 miles of this is dual carriageway, then when I try to park/manoveur then the noise is there, it is very pronounced when it is there, you couldn't miss it!

the confusion continues!

Hi Guys,

I'm booked into Phoenix Honda in Striling next Wednesday, so hopefully I'll get a diagnosis then!

The problem still exists and is still getting louder and more frequent!

Sorry guys I thought I had updated this thread. My problem was resolved by changing the oil in the diff, all done under warranty. It took some convincing for the guy at the garage to think it was diff related, various makeshift troubleshooting was involved such as an apprentice sitting on my engine and then sitting in my boot to see where the noise was coming from!

Anyway, all is well now, no more noisey humm
