Default Strange vibration?

Hello All,

The S seems to have developed a strange vibration around 3-4k rpm, it will then smooth out then when vtec kicks in it feels hesitant and is not as smooth as was a few weeks ago,

the vibration feels the same as a wheel that is not balanced correctly,(shakes the cabin)but then smooths out????

and in vtec, the best way I can describe it is, it feels like fuel starvation????? (but no vibration)

The car has a de-cat, after market exhaust, and a CAI kit, I also fitted new tyres all round (falkens) and changed the oil and filter (castrol edge 5/40)

all this work was carried out a few weeks before JAE and the london tunnel run and the care drove like a dream for the whole 540 miles, so I am struggling to tie the symptoms with any of the above work,

I have checked the oil level, all the wheel nuts and the car nothing is jumping out at me,

PS its a MY01, with 103000 miles,

Any ideas would be a big help, Thank you Mark

Hi Zud,

Only happens when the car is diving under load, and in any gear,

Had a look at some other posts and wondering if it might be an engine / gear box / diff mount

Or mybe the prop shaft???

It could be the driveshafts...these symptoms sound similar to what andy2000 experienced ~ 15 months ago...he also had a similar mileage to yours.

Fitting driveshaft spacers would rectify the issue, or swapping the buckets over.

Have a search for driveshafts Mark and see if your symptoms tie up with anyone else's.

Thanks Matt,

I have also fitted the HKS lowering springs last week that I picked up at JAE, so was thinking about some spacers anyway, so I will look into that,

I did not mention the springs in the first post as the car had the problem before they were fitted,

They wear without the ride height being altered...just as Andy's did
