Mine's swapped to a titanium jobby but I've no idea what's involved in the procedure as Mikey_K did it for me as I bought it from him

Cut my speed sensor wire at the same time too - now that's service

(erm..deliberately cos I asked him, not by accident, like )

An interesting development for the knob anorak. Well I thinks it's interesting.

Having put a few more miles behind the wheel today I find that because the gear knob sits quite high it's more comfortable to change gear with my hand wrapped around the knob, hand at right angles, rather than with my palm on the top of it.
In fact the shape seems to encourage it.
Changing gear thus is also helping me to be quickly accustomed to finding the closely spaced slots.
For the first few miles I was actually looking at my knob to see which gear I was in - God I felt like a learner or an OAP driving a Rover.

In any case big heavy knob from Mazda is too big - the thread that is.

End of knob talk.

So is it just a matter of undo ing the knut, and then screwing off the oem and replacing it with my MOMO? How does the whole pushing down mechanism work with a MOMO knob.

Just that, you push down. There's no mechanism within the knob itself, its all underneath. Probably thinking of a lift up reverse gear knob?
