Neil
Thanks for the pointer.
I don't believe a 0W rated oil is necessary for the UK climate, and it's interesting point re. an "x"W 40 being too thick when hot.
I've always understood that you should use the narrowest possible viscosity range for your local climate, so unless someone can convinceme otherwise, I'll be tracking down Amsoil or Redline 10W 30 when I synth up. (A way off yet though, with less than 600 miles on the clock yet!) I'm sure I read somewhere that Mobil 1 had brought out a 10W 30, but haven't seen it anywhere.
This oil thing is mighty complicated....

Neil - great work

I'll re-link to this in Important info.

OIL IS COMPLICATED!! - MANY different views, the link neil put is what i got from an oil expert and Brian.

s2ki.co.uk will have it's own homepage, this is one of the changes as to how the regional and national areas will work in s2ki Version 4. (which should be launched sometime soon)

That being some comments in a pm which I said do not quote me? The section quoted in the faq isn't from me, and I disagree with some of it. Since I made comments on the best API-rating to go for (and it is not SJ), and the some aspects I'd appreciate it if you removed any connection of my name with such miss-information.

-Brian.

Brian's right AE, I have not posted any of Brian's views on the tech faq.

Sorry Brian, I thought your "Don't quote me" referred to the statement you made about not changing oils - it certainly read that way.

I'll edit it out. And I think i'll just use the oil Honda recommend, they must know something, they built the bloody car!

Oh neil - may be worth taking the oil info and quote from the oil man out, if it could be construed as misinformation

Cheers

Removed, I thought it was interesting but it's obviously such a complicated decision I think you're right. Let's just go along with Honda's guidelines on this one. I would hate to give someone the wrong information on this.
