Default Technical Help

was just looking in to how hard it would be to change the hood and the only panel that i have not been able to remove yes is the rear side panel.

i have removed the upper section at the rear and the main flat peice that the hood sits on.

i have taken the screw out and popped the rear side panel out from under the rain gutter.

its just that where the rear side panel sits under the roll bar hoop it is almost as if it is fixed and just wont budge,

any advice!

i really do not want to remove the roll bar hoops.

Also has anyone bought a roof from hard top guy in the states as they are claiming that they can sort you out for

This panel is an arse to budge, assuming you have removed the metal screws and all the visible grey lugs, there is a further hidden lug in the corner nearest you.

It is either a case of yanking it directly down, which is easier said than done, or pulling laterally away from you and deliberately breaking the plastic off which the lug joins to. I did the latter, by mistake, twice! (each side) didn't make any difference to the refit as the metal screws and shelf/lugs when replaced hold it firm.

EDIT: post changed - I meant yank it down!

looks like it might be option 2 then, i tried pulling it up for ages but it's nearly impossible due to the fixing from the roll bars.

It neatly 'breaks' a small corner off as the plastic is slightly scored underneath.
