One thing I noticed is, on my original roof the top is in one piece but on the replacement it's 3 pieces, can any one shed any light on whether this is because I went after market or because i changed from plastic to glass?

Well I've managed to get through, all booked in for September - earliest weekend he could do.
Was a bit perturbed by bluepurples' comments, but 99% of the feedback I've read about his work are positive, and didn't fancy spending £800 at Monsoon - spend the saved money on other parts.

£472.80 delivered - I got the last factory style Twill weave in stock yesterday but they have mohair at about another £100 more.

Their courier didn't collect until today though so getting it tomorrow. Pulled out the interior this morning, drivers seat, trim panels, secret compartment, rear tray (through the boot) but haven't started on the roof yet. Been a pretty simple, methodical work through so far - keeping tabs on where the screws come from and leaving the passenger seat and seatbelt bolted in - you can still detach the roll hoop and sit it in the gap behind the seat

Done, took a little while longer than I thought, found missing fasteners and screws so had to wait for spares to come in, plus went wakeboarding a few times to enjoy the weather - it really is a couple of days project if you're taking your time and doing it properly. I didn't cut the old roof off so I could learn how it went back together and there are shortcuts you can take by snapping a part of the rain channels that goes under the roll hoop - meaning you don't have to remove centre console etc to get the roll hoops out - but I didn't do that either ( I expect a lot of fitters do though as it doesn't affect cosmetic appearances)

All-in, quite a rewarding project and a really well made hood, taped seams and pre-drilled holes in exactly the right place - a bit nerve-wracking doing it fully up though, I think the warm weather helped it stretch but it's really tight as a drum !

Time for a beer ....

The closest I've seen is Ragtops (?) in Gosport - no idea on price though.

/edit
Never mind, they seem to be permanently closed for business now
