Timing Chain Help

But if you insist, this problem has been experienced by all sorts of owners using all sorts of oils, thus proving it's nothing whatsoever to do with oil. There is no correlation at all.

All this arguing is making me feel right at home (Not sarcasm).
Tomorrow morning I'll phone a local specialist (any trusted near Basingstoke? I seem to recall there was one a little trip up the M3) and ask them what they think and I'll let you all know what Honda says to me when I turn up to collect the car.
I'm half expecting to find it with 50 extra miles on the clock, a shagged engine and an empty fuel tank - they've had it since Friday.

I changed out old Morris semi synth oil 10w 40 out my 65k miler 02 plate when I first bought it. Popped in shell helix 5w 30 fully synthetic with correct size oil filter. 6 weeks later, slapping the guides like a good 'un.
Refurbed the tct myself with dremel, leaving new oil in. Cured.
It's all about removing that oil glaze on the worm gear, and drilling out the oil pressure hole a tad.
Otherwise, the Ballade tct route rarely goes wrong. Last resort is the slack chain. At that mileage, unless it's had a very hard life, I'd be surprised it's a very slack chain. Might be slightly slack with age, but this is where perhaps the Ballade works better than hondas own oem tct.
Changing the oil is part of the procedure when changing the tct, it might just assist with better oil pressure.might be minimal, but all the same can't hurt to change it.

If you're handy with the spanners, this is a 6 hour job with cups of tea inbetween for an experienced clanky, and involves moving lots of things out the way. It's one of the pain in the ass jobs on the s2000.

I'm not at all handy but my Dad's a useful guide and we tend to figure things out.
This year is a year of learning... replacing the snapped wheel studs a few weeks ago was a total arse and resulted in a broken ABS sensor so I'm still pretty sore about that.

Tell them to shut the hell up, stop lying, put in a complaint and then buy yourself this: https://www.balladesports.com/produc...hain-tensioner
Fit it in 15 mins yourself and be done with it.

I say the above, because I had a failed Honda one, fitted a new Honda one, 6/7 months later it failed again, I fitted a Ballade Sports TCT and I've never had a problem since.
