Default Tom Tom Go Mount Question

Just recently purchased a Tom Tom One, but I find the mount too long and large to place on the Right hand side of the windscreen which is my preferred position.
Its handy to have as its right in my eyeline, and also, being right handed I find it easier to use there. Also, cos the S2k windscreen is so small I find that the mounting centrally tends to dominate the windscreen.

The arm on the 'One' mount is the same size as the one on the old Go models, so my question is: do any of you know of a good place to get alternative mounts for Tom Tom devices (or do you place your Go in the centre of the windscreen) ?

BTW. The One is superb, and the reception is mighty impressive. Even get a lock sitting on my sofa in my lounge !
Apparently its running a new chipset for much improved reception.

Interesting to read your thoughts about the TT one. I have a similar thread lower down.

Re mounting - when I ask users a little while ago - all answers (and photos!) I received had it mounted centrally. My initial thoughts were like yours that I would feel more comfortable with it on the right.... I'll have to buy one and try!

I mount my Dell Axim in the middle on a Seidio powered mount with a gooseneck. It doesn't dominate the windscreen at all and, more to point, isn't easily swipable by a passing Chav while at lights or something - my first thought when I considered putting it on the right.

Not sure on its size though, the TTOne.

I have mine mounted centrally and don't find it to be a problem. You could try getting a dedicated mount from TT and hard wiring it into the car. Only trouble is the mount is then fixed and to some eyes, when you sell the car, spoiling the dash.

I broke my mount so I bought the additional mount kit for 29 euros

If you want to mount your GO in a different way - no problem!
With the Alternative Mount Kit you can position your GO wherever it feels most comfortable.

The Alternative Mount Kit enables you to attach your TomTom GO to your car in many different ways.
A suction pad to fix it to the windshield (goose neck holder).
An adhesive clip to attach it in the car.
A swivel mount.
