Default Torque for Android - Video and Data

What you need
  1. An Android Phone running 2.2 or higher
  2. aLapHD App (free or paid) from the Android Market £3.99
  3. A Bluetooth OBD2 scanner like this from Amazon - also widely available on Ebay £20
  4. Racerender software http://www.racerender.com £Free or £20 for the full deluxe version

And here's what you can do (best watched in HD):

I made the dials myself using Racerender and you can add other dials like throttle position, gear, g-force, MAF, intake pressure, engine load etc etc.

I also now have a way of mounting the phone on my Modifry mount, so will capture better video without the screen mount (Samsung one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004ULZ6T0 )getting in the way.

Nice work

I've got this to try. Just need to get bloody windows installed on my mac so I can use race render .

I'll be interested to see the footage from the modifry mount. Thinking do I really need a go pro if the phone can do it all now, just the angle isn't as wide.

Here you go - ignore the dodgy data at the start , that was down to being parked under a bridge so the GPS was a bit confused!

Bit of a convoluted method but I have a Brodit Clip http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/..._ya_os_product

Which I've attached to a Panavise Pedestal Mount http://panavise.com/index.html?pageI...qskudatarq=146 which I got from Ebay as well

Along with some other Panavise bits to create this:

I also have an external mic to reduce wind noise from Ebay: MINI TIE CLIP LAPEL LAVALIER MICROPHONE FOR iPHONE 4

lol, bit of a beast.

I'd be monitoring IAT's and coolant temp too on a video, racerenderer looks great.

The weight helps with camera stability, so it's pretty good really

Those parameters aren't really an issue on an NA car.

Thanks, the angle looks good actually.

I was thinking this would work with the modifry maybe as it has a tripod head attachment

Don't know I'm afraid, I do know that the Modifry stuff is all Panavise, so that made the best sense for me. It also gives some flexibility in terms of camera height - I can get as low as possible to see under the rear view mirror.
