Default Tyre Recommendations

I need to replace the front tyres and probably the rears as well on my MY07 and I usually go for the Bridgestones, I currently have RE002 on the fronts and RE050A on the rears.

I am considering putting Michelin Pilot Sport 4 on all four corners but I know someone that can possibly get me a good deal on a set of Pirelli P Zeros so should I stick with my original plan of the Michelins or should I go for the Pirellis? I've seen a few posts from people recommending the Michelins but can't seem to find any reviews on running the Pirellis on the S2000.

Do the Michelins have good wear rating? I normally get about 35,000 miles from the fronts and about 25,000 from the rears, I don't want to switch to a tyre that will only give me around 15,000 miles.

Useful tyre thread here

I'm running PS4s at the moment and really happy with them. Decent all weather grip.

How many miles per set! 41k on my car and 3rd set of fronts and 5th of rears, Using Bridgestones though, must be some kind of hooligan. Never achieved that kinda miles out of any set of tyres, on any car.

Another vote for PS4's can't comment on the longevity but they ride really well.

I am not convinced by the longevity of the Michelins. Several reviews I have seen complain about how quickly the tyres wear and 13K miles on the rears does not seem like a lot to me.

I know the tyre wear will depend on how the car is driven and I don't exactly "nanny" my car on the Bridgestones but they always seem to give me at least 20K. Several years ago I used to do about 18K miles a year and a lot of that was cross-country but now I only do about 9K and most of that is on dual-carriageways where I have very little opportunity to exploit the handling of the car.

I think the tyre wear of the Pirellis might be similar to the Michelins so I am leaning towards sticking with Bridgestones, better the devil you know and all that.

I got to say this pains me to read. Your S sounds like its a rescue dog on TV needing saving. If its spending most of its life on a dual carriage way and tyre wear is the concern, I think you might need another car.

Please shoe your car responsibly for what it is....long lasting tyres might net you the scenery.

If you're getting over 8k from a set of rear tyres, you don't know how to 'S' properly!

I have had PS4 all round now for three years.
I replaced the rears at the beginning of the year after less than 12k over two years. But to be honest they are brilliant wet or dry and as I prefer not to skimp on anything related to my S I will still recommend them highly

Another vote for PS4. I only have a couple hundred miles on them but they have great feel, good grip, nice ride, and are quiet.
