Default Vibes through accelerator .....

I don't know if it's me but my S seems to suffer very slight vibes through the accelerator and to a lesser extent the steering wheel and gear lever at low speed and revs. Once moving quicker I can't really notice it.

It's like I can feel the engine through the accelerator. It's not wheel balance and goes the minute the clutch is dipped but the car is still moving.

The cars only done 9K and seems totally fine otherwise. Is is only very minor but annoying as I can feel it through my foot !

Anyone any ideas - do they all do this to some degree ? Am I expecting too much - I know it's not a Lexus V6 but I don't remember it other than in the last few days and don't remember my old 'S' having any sense of vibes through the pedals .....

Its under warranty - take it back

Not quite sure what that could be, but if it goes as soon as the clutch is dipped then its likely to be the engine or load related on the drivetrain.

Id be on for saying normal.

Mine does it, i am considering doing the clutch slave mod and remove that little peg, whilst there grease up the clutch fork. I think this may help as the vibes are coming from there.

Clutch fork greasing is well worth doing!

Yes not too bad. There is a guide to doing it in the Under The Hood forum. Solves the clutch sticking and makes it noce and smooth...

Thanks for the comments people ......

I took the car to the dealer today for a brief test drive (Thames Honda).

The mechanic who came out was very familiar with S2000's. He mentioned the clutch problems people have had but after a drive felt it was as every other S2K and there was not a problem at all.

It has got much better and decidedly less noticeable in the last week - which made me think it was probably me. Interesting that when the engine felt rough coincided with the 3 tanks of Tesco's I had decided the car didn't like. Having now had another 2 tanks of V Power it's much smoother ....... odd given the alleged problems people are having with Tesco's - just made me wonder a bit !

mine had a similar thing, took it in for investigation - turned out to be a cracked manifold. Nearly a grand's worth of parts later problem cured - thank goodness i had a few weeks of warranty left!
