Default Volume control

Hi
My volume “toggle switch” to the right of the steering will only work to reduce volume - it doesn’t move upwards. Any fixes or do I need to look to replace?
cheers

The switch doesn't move upwards -- i.e. mechanical? Or it moves and nothing happens at the radio -- i.e. electrical?

Unless it responds to lubrication or something jamming it my guess is a new switch is required.

The switch rocks back and forth so if something got behind the upper portion it won't rock that direction but looking at mine I don't see any way for anything to get behind it from this side. Can you press hard on the + , upper side of the switch? Just rocks down and returns to the center? The whole thing is a module without individual parts from what I can determine.

Here's a link a Left Hand Drive version which may give you some clues on how it mounts in the car. RHD modules are on eBay as well sometimes. Looks like the whole instrument panel has to come out to replace this module. Maintenance manual states the fix is to replace the whole module. Pressing hard can't make it anymore non functional. Taking the dash apart is something I'd delay until the car goes into winter storage. Dash color varies by model year. Most are black but some are silver. Seem to be inexpensive used parts -- at least for LHD.
