IMO the stock gearknob is the perfect shape size and feel, I tried a couple of different knobs in the past and didn't like them anywhere near as much.

This is what happens when anyone opens up a 'knob' thread, however innocent their intentions.

It's inevitable and just can't be helped...like licking your lips whilst eating a doughnut or putting a Rountree's Fruit Pastel in your mouth without chewing it - remember that!!

Voodoo knob gets a thumbs-up from me. I definitely couldn't go back to the stock one. Gearing is now greatly improved for me and the stock one just looks far to small in comparison these days.

 

I used to use an Oakley sunglasses bag as a 'knobsock' for when it really cold or really hot.

Then I bought a black textured countersunk 'Ricks' knob and its fabulous. Shortens the throw, fits your palm perfectly and doesn;t get badly affected by temperature.

 

I Prefer the Ricks and Muz knobs over the old early model knobs. But I do like the size and feel of the stock knob on the later models.

I don't think any of the after market items really suit the look of the gunmetal radio door on the leter models.

 

I agree!! and I have the same matte black textured Rick's knob and your ring wont stretch it. It match the black interior well!! Well worth the invesment!
