But it weights nothing, much less than the OE item. Because it is so light mounting it lower down the shaft increases the effort required to change gear.
Find an alternative to the OE that is at least half as heavy again, and don't mount it too low. The increased mass at the top of the shaft will act a bit like a pendalum and assist the throwing action.

Some years ago I obtained a VERY heavy solid steel largish knob that I used on an MX-5. It transformed what was already a bench-mark gear change.
On my S2000 it has done likewise. It is twice the weight of the Honda OE item, although I admit that for aesthetic reasons I modified it so that it could sit lower than standard.

Flipping cold to the touch on frosty mornings, but I always drive using finger-less gloves with rubber palms for grip and warmth so not a problem.

Are u sure? the voodoo knob I have is definately heavier than OEM knobs! Thats solid knob fits your palm perfectly unless u have a small diameter hand

Have a titanium Vodoo extra large (I think) and loved it. It is currently being used as a paperweight.

Fairly certain that the titanium ones aren't made anymore due to the cost of the raw materials.
