VSA Module Failure
It might be a bit early to say that mine has failed as well (08 car) but it is currently sitting in a Honda garage being diagnosed. The light came on this morning on start up and stayed, it had been being parked on my drive for for three days
If it is the module I'm bloody glad I had engine/vsa paranoia and bought the extended warrenty!
And I've heard back.. it is a modulator failure so it will require the full unit. My garage have already logged it onto Honda's warranty system too and hope to hear back asap!

Actually impressed! The VSA module failed this morning so Honda had the car by 0845 and by 1630 the replacement module had been authorised by Honda on warranty.
The garage think they might be able to have it replaced by late tuesday! Quality

Update - My garage did indeed replace the module on the wednesday and bloody good service it was too!
BUT.... the VSA failure light came back on on my way home this afternoon... my Honda garage have requested the car in tomorrow for assessment.
By the way, my S is three years old & has 12.8k on the clock..
UPDATE: forget that last report.. apparantly the module threw an error as it didn't like me reversing up the drive at work at a bit of a lick and then turning into the road at the top - the yaw sensor got the hump about it

I'm very glad I don't have a late model S, what with all these inherrent faults - death rattles etc and this VSA issue too. My dealership said they have replaced ' loads ' of these modules since they started fitting them on the car in 2006.
This is definitely another issue that needs to be brought to the attention of Honda HQ.

A very financially painful update regarding my situation that I wrote about a few posts above...
It was the VSA modulator which had developed a fault and it cost me £35 for the privilege of being told that!
However when the service department told me the cost of the replacement part was around £1500 (yes that's £1500) - I almost had to sit down.
Total charge including labour was £1634. This on a 3 year old car (only 5 months out of warranty) which has only done 9860 miles of which I've just clocked up just 1200. That's more that £1 per mile!
As I mentioned previously I do have an AA Gold Warranty (which I almost persuaded the garage that sold me the car to give off the cash price - thank god they refused)...BUT the warranty was for a max of £1000.
So £600 to get this repaired now sounds bearable compared to £1600 but I would have balked at having to pay that cost when I first starting searching around the issue.
I was told by the manager of the Service Dept that had the car not been a Cyprus import then Honda UK would have paid for the part - I guess I'll never know whether this would have been the case or not. However, I can actually quite understand Honda UK's stance on this given that they got no money from the car being in the country.
So for me this is the most expensive car I've ever bought (at £15000 it was double my previous purchase), the newest car I've ever owned and the first Honda I've ever owned (always been an Audi man). Reliable Honda - hmm not sure. Its only because the part is made by ATE and looks like other marques are being affected by a similar problem that I will consider another Honda in the future.
Just my story...
Andy
p.s. I still love to drive my car!

Worrying ....... I have an 07 Cypriot import too! Mine's fine so far! I'm struggling to understand how the fact the cars came from Cypress is significant - would the cars for each country be manufactured in a batch?
for a few hundred £s you can purchase warranty from a Honda dealer that would cover you for this and other issues, it also includes AA cover which is handy when you lock your keys in the boot.
Euro imports had a warranty through Honda Europe, Honda UK have to honour the european warranty but only that. whereas Honda UK might offer a goodwill gesture to people that paid the 6 grand extra for the same car.

After lots and lots of phone calls and letters I now have a new VSA module fitted. No more light on the dash board! Whatever I did Honda would not pay the labour so got a local Honda Specialist to fit it (90+VAT).
The VSA modules in 2006->2009 cars all have the same part number so could all be affected. From my investigation not many 2006 cars have them fitted and 2008+ is still in warranty so only people with 2007 are reporting they have problems. Some of the specialists say its affecting all manufactures and another reports it started when moving from external to smaller internal senors within the modules.
Came across one place that wanted to fit an external sensor and have wires hanging out the side of the module. Not for me on a high tech safely piece of equipment.
