Okay my oil levels are absolutely fine, but since fitting the decat i have a noise when the car hits VTEC. It is a very metallic noise, almost like a spoon hitting a metal pipe but at a high frequency, just at the point of VTEC operation, after that the noise subsides (Or the sound of VTEC masks it)

The noise doesn't actually seem to be coming from the engine bay.. I assumed that since I have the HKS dual with no OEM resonator, this noise could well be resonance that has been exacerbated by the decat? Alternatively could the noise be cam tensioner/belt related?

Any thoughts ?? Thanks in advance

I'm not sure it is pinking.. why would it occur just at VTEC switchover? Also i presume the F20 has a knock sensor, woudn't the ECU retard ignition advance BEFORE pinking ever occured?

Easy enough to swap the CAT back and see if it goes.

Are you getting a CEL light?
