i got a cobra cat1 alarm fitted to my s2k, got 2 black boxes [somewhere] in the car.

one controls the motion/proximity sensors which i know about.
this second box is smaller - 2.5" square. has a 4 pin connector in it and when it's plugged in sets the alarm off after a random period.
i've left it disconnected (has been since i've owned the car) but any idea what it does?

i know a bit vague, but theres no ID numbers on it and a fully sealed box with no adjustments for sensors on it. wires go down the same cable tidy tubing as the proximity control box.

i presume it's something todo with the alarm/immobiliser system. that or it's some peice of hardware i have no idea about and it's causing some interferance with the electrical systems and screwing with the security system causing it to sound off.

so far i've had it connected for a day, and alarm has gone off twice for no reason. disconnected earlier tonight and nothing yet!


weird - seems to have no good/bad effects of having it connected/disconnected. it's staying disconnected. just wondered what it might be?

in the small picture of the kit, there is a black square box slap bang in the middle of the pic.

definately not essential to the security system - immobilizer works, and siren works without this box connected.
