Default What's been your most embarrassing moment in the S2000?

as an alternative to which car got wasted by an S2000, what car comprehensively wasted your S2000?

Mine was an encounter with a 996 Porsche Turbo...I was totally annihilated, I've never seen anything so quick on the road

Nothing embarrassing about being put in your place by a 996, Paul.

I have to hold my hands up and confess that I was given a run for my money by a 225 TTR last night On the M54 coming home from Shrewsbury, he came flying up behind me, doing a ton or so. Not to be shown up by an upturned jelly mould, I dropped it to fourth and put my foot down.

The road ahead was long, straight and clear so I pulled over the other inside lane and he pulled up alongside me. And stayed there ot thereabouts, all the way up to redline in 5th, around 140 (kph, officer) indicated, at which point I thought enough was enough and backed off.........

Mind you, he did slow a bit for the couple of long sweeping corners, but it wasn't like I was pulling away car lengths or anything.

Maybe I just found someone who drives a TT who happens to be more of an enthusiast than a hairdresser? Either way, it was the first time I've come across one that came anywhere near to holding its own.

The TTR was probably a chipped with 260+bhp so would have a better top end. I got a similar 1/4 mile time to a chipped one at Santa Pod on Sunday (both got 14.7) and I had a bad start Vs 4WD, so it must just be top end.

My most embarrassing moment was being beat in 1st / 2nd gear out of the lights by my girlifiriend in the S3. I was all over her in third though I have now learnt to launch properly but it is futile against the S3

Being wasted by a total Q-car of a tatty old Nova on the Nurburgring... caught him up going though a coned area then thought "a-ha - move over and lemme past"

WHOOOOSH - away goes the Nova and never seen again.

Bloody amazing and more than a little embarassing.

CC you are beginning to sound like Clarkson. You might be like him one day, does that mean you won't drive a convertible then.
( From a bald coot in his mid fifties )

BMW M5.. didn't even expect to win.... but I didn't expect to come off quite so badly either

Suffice to say his car looked nice from 200 metres behind after a pretty short drag through a couple of long open bends and a brief straight
