Default Wheel Options

Hello,

I need 4 replacement wheels for my MY02 S2000 (have suffered corrosion outside warranty and have come to an "agreement" with Honda UK to share the cost of replacement).

I contacted my local dealer today to ask them to order the wheels and, to my surprise, they said I would need to bring the car in first to enable them get the serial number to match the wheels.

Shouldn't they be able to do this without seeing the car ? I thought all the wheels were standard ? Does this mean I have an option as to which wheels I could go for ?

(I like the MY05 wheels, but I have new tyres, so can't justify changing to 17s and having to replace all the boots) ...

As always, advice appreciated.

Thanks,

I think they are just being ignorant, perhaps unclear as to whether you have the pre-MY02 wheels or the MY02 wheels. You won't get an option for the MY04 wheels IMO.

Corrosion warranty is 5 years IIRC.

There are a number of people on here that have had them replaced after the 3 year warranty has run out.

They go by the chassis number, since the 02 was the first wheel revision (part-polished, instead of all painted). They want to order the correct type.

So honda probably think they got a good deal on this one!
