When does warranty start on an imported car?
I bought my car new in September of last year. I knew it was an import but the garage I bought it from (a long established independent dealer) assured me that I was covered by Honda Europe Wide warranty for the standard 3 years. The car was PDI'd by a Honda dealer and an Honda Ireland Service Book stamped.
I recently had a CEL which was diagnosed as a faulty sensor by my local Honda dealer - they duly replaced it "under warranty". They then came back to me and told me that my car wasn't "on the system"! So after some messing with the supplying dealer I have now received a warranty book from a Honda dealer in Cyprus, from where I understand most of these imports come? The warranty book was attached to a blank invoice which is dated November 06. I'm wondering whether my warranty will start from that date or from when the car was first registered - 10 months later!!
Anyone had any experience of this?

I'm not sure if there is a single answer to this. It could be either the date of the transfer of ownership from the honda - cyprus dealer - uk dealer or it could be date of registration in your territory.
Part of registering mine in the UK was that the supplying dealer had to send certain documentation to Honda UK including the invoice from the dealer in the original territory
Mine was imported to order so if there is any difference in dates it's likely to be a metter of a few weeks nothing more
