Following on from my recent thread about Snow Socks, and at the risk of antagonising the mods as this is probably going over old ground, I am now thinking about the possibility of going for winter tyres.

I was at Centre Gravity yesterday (top job by Chris on geo and a few siezed bolts - thanks) and he had a set of wheels with Michelin Pilot Alpin winter tyres ready to go on Jayne's Boxster. We had a discussion and the upshot is I might well go for a set. So the big question is, which ones for the S? I would like to stick with my OEM 17" wheels if poss as I like the look, so would be looking at suitable 17" winter tyres. So what brand, what profile, what width etc etc?

Kumho KW27's was my choice. They're brilliant!
