I guess it depends whether you have an aftermarket CAI, if they can turn around and say it wouldn't have happened with the standard airbox, no warranty claim.
Exactly right. And it's hard to argue with Honda's position unless you can conclusively proof that the intake wasn't the source of the problem.

This was always my concern when I had an AusS2000 Spoon-a-like snorkel intakes. I would have been quite concerned about the risk of water ingestion whilst driving some of the roads at Pinkfest last weekend, with the large puddles of standing water, if I had had the snorkel on.

Presumably though the Muz/Spoon type CAIs (or anything that still retains the standard airbox) would be fine, as any water ingested would settle in the orig airbox and drop out the bottom (assuming a small hole was drilled). I can't see how it could jump from the bottom of the airbox up and through the filter all by itself, IYSWIM.

CAIs like the 4IGs (like I just bought off ebay - d'oh) do allow a much more direct path for water to make it's way in though.

I just stumbled upon this thread......what finally happened? I tried to read through it but it makes no sense. It looks really heavily edited, as if it was changed after the original posts.

Has the car been wrecked or is it back from the dead? Was it hydrolocked and who was to blame or picked up the tab?
