I was looking at these as I am fitting an oil cooler into the left hand side of the bumper...
Mine is an 03 car.

How easy are the side ones to fit, what did you use to cut the plastic out?

Would it not be cheaper and easier just to buy some mesh for £9?

Also how did you fix them in place?

I can't answer your questions as mine was fitted to the car when I bought it, but I love the way it looks - as good as OEM finish on a BB car :

the centre one clips to the grill

the side ones screw into the recess (on the pre-face lift bumper)

so you don't remove the plastic grill in the centre, you just fit over it?

I have central one fitted to mine as well.
And yes, it just fits over the existing grill.
