One thing that I'd heard from some of the younger local car owners is that they feel a bit out of place at some of the s2k meets, since a lot of the guys going to these are older. I'm probably the youngest owner (or at least active owner) in the area, and I don't mind the age difference, but maybe if there were meets with other activities involved other than just meeting and shooting the sh*t, ya know? Maybe there are more meets like that organized, but I wasn't able to make it to any this year.

I did notice a bit of a disconnect between the older members and the younger members...or maybe more appropriately, the old-skool members and the new-skool. I agree with Gf

I have to agree with Pat on this one. If the younger owners integrated a bit more with us "older" folks, I think the yunginz wouldn't feel so disconnected.

As for the type of meets we have, I think we have them for the most part due to the younger (non-21+) owners. Otherwise, there's no problem for us to meet up at the local pub, bowling alley, Gamewerks, etc.

There's a lot of knowledge and experience about the S2000 that the young owners could really try to extract from us old farts.

Im probably, as i said numerous times, a younger active member on the UMW, I ring in at a woping 20 years old! But some of the meets that are at the Pubs wont intrest me do to not being of age...unless you old farts can pull some strings for me? Ive just started to get my face out here in the UMW but I hope to meet most of you with the coming of 08!

OK here is my idea

It would be a great help to me and maybe others who want to go to meets but never have time to check the board. If there was a list that people could sign up to and once on the list you get a PM when a new meet has been posted. That way I will get an e-mail and know it is time to get my ass on here and see where and when the meet is.

What do you think?

I KNOW!!! a new school-old school challenge!
bowling tournys, football games, fooseball, baseball games, drinking challenges, indoor karting challenge, paint/snowball fights

games that'll pit the newer member aginst the older members.
this will bring us to the same table and keep each side around long enough to get friendly competetion going and gradually everyone get to know each other.

but of course with something like this we would have to address the problem of 20 names on THE LIST and only 5 shows up.

Heck yeah! I'd also definitely be up for paintball or airsoft. We played hundreds of games back where I'm from out in the sticks.

Like I said, I don't mind hanging out with the old-school members at all. Even though I had probably only met about 5 people at the UBAB this year prior to the meet, I still had a good time, and I only came away wanting to hang out with these guys more and learn more about our cars. I have no problem admitting I'm an s2k noob!
