Default car wash

obviously can't take the s2 through any automated washes. need to get the salt off and a coat of wax on, but warm as it is, i don't want to stand out in the cold and do it myself. you guy's know of any hand wash places out here c'ville-way that'll get the job done for <$50 and NOT tell me any bs like "oh, we have to drive it in to the bay, bla bla bla"

also, i've got this $19 "breathable" cover from menards to keep the dust off while the car's parked in my garage. when i took the cover off yesterday, the car had condensation on it in many places, the wheels especially. this kinda disturbed me - but i'm assuming that the condensation was catalyzed by some salt residue on the car (after that nasty pre-thanksgiving storm, i was able to rinse the car down, but wasnt able to give it a real wash job). do y'all figure my analysis is correct, or does the cover suck and is it doing more damage than good?

Sometimes, not often I take my car to TLC Handwash in East Dundee off of RT 72 and Rock Road right after RT 25 if you're heading east on RT 72. Hand washes there are around $12. It's undergone a half dozen owner changes in the past 3 years, however I ALWAYS ask them to let me be in the bay or close to it so I can supervise the wash. No owner even the current one hesitates. BTW, this is a full service detail shop, however I haven't utilized them for any other service than a wash and engine clean.

Addtionaly, if you are just looking for a quick automatic wash to rid your car of salt etc, try the BP on Randall and County Line Rd. It's decent and it's like pulling into your garage since it has no rails and is all laser aligned, great for lowered cars!

Ahad.

I usually get my van and truck washed at that BP, but won't the high pressure wreak havoc on the convertible top & seals?

My top did leak driving through pressure washers, however it leaked after rain storms as well...part of the many reasons why I no longer own it.
