Changes to the sticky section

I'm sorry, but from what I remember, the only topic that was stickied and open was the "Introductions" thread, the rest were always closed barring people from commenting in them. The Introductions thread was only for introductions, there wasn't much activity in that thread since most of the current active members had posted in it already.
I like the idea of a FS sub forum, but with the current format of no discussions, what is the purpose? The old FS threads could be pulled up via the search (when working) just like any other thread, so I'm a bit confused for creating a separate sub-forum if we are going to continue with one thread each month. Couldn't the monthly FS thread just be stickied, instead of a sub-forum?

Charlie and I will work out some new ideas in the near future. Let things happen, and we'll shake out those things that don't work, and make sure those that do work, stick.
The ultimate goals for the changes made and upcoming on the forum are to have more inclusivity of owners and members, more participation of current and new owners on the forum, and to aid in building relationships and friendships that extend beyond this site.

Either a FS forum where each seller makes a new thread with discussions. Or a monthly fs thread.

A question: I have been posting in this thread: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=767957
Is that one not supposed to be a discussion thread? I am not clear on which autox/track threads are intended to be purely "informational" and which are welcome to have discussion.

With the lull in the forum, we were hoping to get some changes implemented wihtout causing too much of a ruckus like it would have if we did it in Spring or Summer.
Ok, I am not going to multi-quote you, but on the one hand you talk about changes you are implementing like they are all worked out, but you also talk about working out new ideas in the near future. It sounds to me like you are implementing changes without really thinking them through beforehand. Is that really the best way to go about this?
Also, I would like to see some clarification on the "near future" part. That seems like a vague term. Typically without set deadlines, people tend to let things slip with no way of holding anyone accountable. As a PM I am sure you are familiar with the concept. So with all that in mind, will you please commit to a timeline when you will resolve the issues that have been brought up?

I also like the no-discussion rule in the FS thread. It keeps things clean, and in order. Comments and discussion should be carried through PM on these items. Even if the seller has his/her own thread in a FS sub-forum, discussion should be between seller and potential buyer.
And to cap things, I would rather see a monthly FS thread rather than a sub-forum. While in mind (on paper) a sub forum seems pretty clean and straightforward, it can be a bit of a hassle to sift through the different topics people have posted. I can see a few people posting a topic titled "Suff FS, Look at the thread for details", therefore forcing the person to open the thread and look at it. A simple monthly FS thread has everything there laid out in front of you. Is it as clean? No, but it's not as cumbersome either.

The *ONLY* advantage to having a for sale sub-forum is if you have individual posts for people selling items and you allow discussions within those. That's it. Other forums I frequent (including one where I've been an administrator for over 4 years now) do this, and the discussion can help if many people would be asking similar questions, if the original poster wants to put up new pictures, etc. If there is to be no discussion in those threads, then the sub-forum is pointless and a stickied FS thread would be the best bet.

Can we make a haters subforum? Seems necessary after viewing this thread and the fact that Greg (GT Motoring) and Zgradis are in the UMW.
