Guys at our meets i think we should do something different. Like if we all meet up on a good day. Lets play football or softball or anything. Then lets get some grub and off to the twisties we go. I think we should plan something like that. I mean we all look fairly athletic.

Athletic yes, injury prone...well today yes. Pulled my left quad on the 2nd play of the game in our flag football league. Played the rest of the game, but as soon as I cooled off....let's say the pain in almost unbearable. I'm getting to old for this crap.

So I vote softball

Don;t worry, sylvir. I went jet skiing this weekend and now my quads are on FIRE! I am OK unless I try to: Walk, climb stairs, decened stairs, (I think I would almost rather just fall down them at this point) sit down, or stand up from sitting.

It's hell gettin' old.

However, Shift does have a good idea. I for one am a little nervous with the idea of softballs flying around anywhere near my car, but that's just me.

Anyone know of a place to play softball near starved rock?

I dont even know where starved rock is! But im sure we all care for our cars as much as you. And we would not be too close to the cars. Plus its a softball, wont do nearly as much damage as a baseball (or another car)

Starved Rock is SW of Chicago, about halfway to Peoria. I was kidding about the ball hitting the car.

Actually I think there are picknic areas there. We could play whatever game we wanted to, or none at all. (i.e. Vollyball, softball, frisbee, ect...)

I am looking for more info. Has anyone been to starved rock recently?

Hopefully whatever the meet is, I'll be able to make it this time. I feel so out of the loop, all this damned travlin'....I'm in West Palm Beach again, sure would be nice to have my S2k down here instead of the impala rental we got...oh well....my dial up from the hotel here really sucks too....take forever. GO COLTS BABY!!!!!

I got some info on Starved Rock last night. It's pretty old (there was not even a website address on the broschure! ) There are picknik areas, hiking trails, rock climbing, and fields that seem like they would be large enough to play softball, football, whatever. I am going to contact the park and see what we can setup. The drive down there and back should be VERY sweet.

Any more input on a DATE for this???

Since most of us have saturdays off, (not me of course). It would be a good day. However, you would be there almost the whole day, which is a saturday which is everyones day off.( not mine of course). So wouldnt it be better if everyone decided to take a three day weekend and go friday!!!!!

*cant me blame for wanting to come.....

I don;t think I will be able to pull it together by this weekend.

What about the weekend of the 27th or 28th?
