Default Looking for a good mechanic

Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy a 2006 S2000 and was wondering if you guys knew of any good mechanics in either Chicago or Indianapolis that I could trust to do a thorough pre-purchase inspection.

Also, any tips you guys have on what to look for on a test drive might be helpful (I've already read the advice in the main part of the forums, but it would be nice to hear from other owners too.)

Thanks!

Any information regarding to the car that you can divulge here would be helpful...

1. Are you buying it from a dealer? Is it a CPO? or is it a private sale?

2. Mileage? VIN?

3. Pictures?

4. ??

I'm buying it from a dealer. The first car I'm looking at is in Chicago.

The car has 20,642 miles on it and the VIN is JHMAP21486S000143.

Here is the website where the car is being sold: http://www.greaterchicagomotors.com/...inois/1522695/

So I'm looking for someone in the Chicago area that knows S2000s well that could do a pre-purchase inspection for me on it.

I looked it up and it's 35 miles away from Chicago. I was planning on taking the car there on the test drive. That might be a little more than the dealership would be comfortable with. I'll ask them when I've got my loan secure, but is there another location that is closer?

if your loan goes threw. the dealership will let u take the car to anyone if they have nothing to hide. plus it it turns out ok your getting that car right. so its a win win for everyone.

I decided to take it to the closest Honda dealer for the PPI/compression testing. It's only 10 miles away and they said that was fine.

I know most dealers suck balls, but this one has gotten decent reviews and these are very reliable cars anyway.
