If I give ya $20 can you buy me a house in Detroit? I heard that's the going rate nowadays... especially in the neighborhoods like the one shown in Clint Eastwood's "Gran Torino" hehehehehe

J/K!!!

Best of luck out there!

haha thanks!

That's why we will be renting. When the market there bottoms out we can look into buying something.

I don't know how much more rock bottom it could possibly get in Detroit.

Let us know when you get settled in, we'll plan a GTG of some sort. There's a few active MI members, but nowhere near as many as Chi town.

Welcome to the Detroit 'burbs! Feel free to let me know if you need any advice -- I'm a life-long resident, at least so far. I'm cautiously optimistic that in at least a few areas of Metro Detroit, the market has bottomed out. I'm also sure that in many/most areas, it has not -- but Sam's point is well taken.

I'm with Sam lol.

Welcome to the D! Hope to see you around no doubt and surely let us know where you end up. Aside from having the highest unemployment rate in the nation, one of the highest murder rates in the nation, the highest amount of police-caused deaths in the nation, a TV show featuring all our abandoned animals, and being the star city in such featured films as the mentioned Clint Eastwood flick or RoboCop, we're actually quite nice!!!

(hope you don't mind having to drive 5-10mph over the speed limit to stay at the speed of traffic!)

-Marc

Marc, those are pretty conservative figures. Just after rush hour has subsided on eastbound 696, and there are those hard workers trying to get home for dinner, sometimes you're approaching triple digits to keep up with traffic. I don't mind it though

He hasn't visited us for meets while he's been living here! What makes you think he'll visit us AFTER he moves away!?

J/K Brian, good luck to you.
