I think this may be a DIY for me. Following the quote mentioned above, I ended up adjusting the valves myself on my CRX before I discovered the real problem; so, I have one prior experience doing it (and I didn't break anything). From reading the DIY thread, it doesn't look too much different on this car; so, I think I am capable. The only cost to me should be the cost of the gasket (well, I may just replace the spark plugs anyway since I'm in the area).
Just buy the snap on tool. It is not NEEDED because the adjusters are above the head/head cover line so its way easier. (One of the reasons the K series / F series head covers are much taller than the old B and D covers.
Most important gasket to change would be the spark tube seals, which I hope they did on Sam's car but usually the gaskets are sold in a kit.
The big one that goes around the bottom of the head cover can usually last taking the head cover off a lot but its the ones that go on the spark plug tubes that can lose their seal and cause oil to get on the spark plug and sometimes this will loosen it.

If you did a CRX then an S2000 will be CAKE.

In any event, hopefully, we have some more driving time before I'm forced to park my car for the winter also.
this sounds like a good story from my point of view - all's well that end's well. I think I'd like the get a valve adjustment done soon...
Kamron - how long does it take?
Anyone else willing to help with some Winter projects, keep in mind: I'll detail for help!

You can come watch me do it on my car, but I don't plan on tackling my own until well after thanksgiving, probably even after the new year. I'll let you know.
I'm also willing to help on your car whenever you want. An equavalent exchange of detailing help sounds awesome too!

i am sorry but nick is right they did bend you over. a valve adjust should only charge an hour to do. if you were getting a deal then they charged 2 hours at 70 dollars an hour

Mine was at Art Moehn in Jackson,
I hope they solved your problem. If it returns, and it were me, I'd rethink where to go.

True story.
