Need some help with a code
Unfortunately I have to bump this thread.
Yesterday my CEL came on again, since I was going to Ohio for a mod day at Marysville Honda, I figured the timing was fine.
The car threw 303 & 304, they checked the coil packs, spark plugs, fuel injectors, they wanted to check the valves but there simply wasn't enough time to do so.
So, the same codes as last time, valve adjustment was performed in the fall and the car's done around 1k miles since.
Dealer in Ohio believes I have a bent exhaust valve, but I'm not sure and neither is anyone else that I've talked to.
Once the car warms up, it does have a lumpy idle, but it is not consistent (like all the valves are bad) I'm just wondering if there's anything else (besides the valves) that could cause this.
Thanks for any input

Maybe the harness/connectors leading up to the coil packs should be looked into or replaced. The intermittent yet repeated nature of your problem makes me think it's electrical which can sometimes be the most painful to troubleshoot. None of it even sounds like you have symptoms of a repeated misfire, maybe you're throwing the code with no actual misfire because of worn electrical connection leading back to the ECM?? Maybe even very close to the ECM which is near the driver footwell so those connections could have been somewhat compromised by water (I do recall a pretty good photo somewhere on here with your car in the rain at mid-ohio)
Unfortunately water and electronics don't mix

Well, there is some type of misfire, it is idling funny, but not rough.
The rain at Mid-Ohio didn't get anywhere near the ECU, it was mainly in the seats and rear areas inside the car, no puddles or anything like that.
I spoke with Billman this morning, he doesn't think it's valve related, so that's a really good thing. I started the car this morning, no CEL, but once it warms up the idling does go lumpy.
I'm going to get a leak down test as soon as possible, just to make sure, but Billman thinks the adjustment could have been done wrong/badly. He's going to take a look at it at WTD.

Idle air control valve should throw its own code, but could cause a misfire if there is a problem (i.e., you'd get p 505, 506, 507 or 511, along with p 303 and p 304). Maybe a slight problem or vacuum hose kink/blockage not meeting the threshold for a P 5xx code, but still causing a misfire.
It's not thrown any of those codes, just the misfire codes. I really wish the CEL would come back on if there's a real problem, it hasn't come back on since yesterday morning. Frustrating...

I certainly appreciate it Dave!!

Sorry to hear that! I'm with Billman on his theory now.
