Well it doesn't look like I'm going to be signing up, I'd like to find a good helmet and change my brake fluid before the event but I'm not going to have the time, I'll get in there next time. I'm still plan on coming to check it out though, I have family just a few minutes from Shawano anyways. Any chance they allow people to ride as passenger at all?
Passengers for track days are generally a bad idea. Especially for beginners.
If you are going to bleed your brakes before the event, go ahead and switch to DOT4 fluid. Motul or ATE Super Blue. DOT5/DOT5.1 is NOT compatible with street cars (It's acutally for military vehicles.) Do NOT use DOT5/DOT5.1.
No matter what, you will need to bleed your brakes after the event.
Having a spare set of pads on hand, even if they are worn is a good idea.
A good helmet is all that is protecting your head if everything goes to shit. M rated helmets (Motorcycle helmets) are designed to take on big hit, then a series of MUCH smaller hits. SA rated helmets (Special Application) are rated to take MULTIPLE HARD hits (like a car rolling over again, and again.) and are fire rated. You only have one head, protect it. It's a bit of a hike from WI, but check out http://www.northstarmotorsports.com for a helmet.

well I just got back home after a very fun morning. Each driver got an hour of track time. I video taped all my runs so I should have that posted up by mid next week.
Jirzlee (Joe) made it out there.........to bad you got there right as I was doing my last run and I had to take off after words.
