Thoughts for IMPROVING the community
First issue and how to fix it: Two new CO's are needed... A nomination process should take place and even if only two people vote, it still the community voting. If ANY moderator on any part of community wants to vote, they have the right to vote as much as anyone in the UMW as they have a higher community organization and share responsibilities as a whole site. Voting will take place 3 weeks from the nominees being picked. Perhaps we can appoint a mod/admin from another part of the site to help out here until things are worked out.
Second issue and how to fix it: Owners or enthusiasts alike should be allowed and welcomes to meets and any other events unless. There should be a rule list made for events, IE no squealing tires, no pounding music, no asshatary, etc. It is everyones responsibility to ensure the safety of their own belongings and the community has no responsibility for anything that happens to an individual or their belongings. No talking about how someone doesn't have a car so they shouldn't be allowed, no matter who they are, they might want to buy an s2k and want to know more about them.
Third issue and how to fix it: Official and unofficial meets; Official meets must have at least ONE CO at the event, unofficial meets can be any other car event but are not supported by the s2k community and a CO is not required to show up to these events.
Final issue and my recommendation: We need more CO's there should be two active members for Illinois, one for Chicago, one for Wisconsin and one for Michigan, the Michigan and Chicago CO's should share responsibilities for Indiana and try to rebuild the relationship with that group, perhaps this will require hosting a meet in Indiana. With this ammount of CO's there should be a WEEKLY meet in one state or another thats offical from April 1 to October 1 (not to say there wouldn't be more).
These are just some BASIC outlined thoughts, they can be molded and changed in any fashion.

We are actively working with the site Admins on getting the community moving forward. No decision has been made for the next step, a CO (or CO's) will be appointed to form some type of order within the community, after that, I believe a nominating/voting process will begin thereafter, but the Admins will have the final say on the subject.
If you folks would like to talk about what kinds of meets people want, or any other types of community building activities, I think that would be a wise idea, but no more talk of the past, please.
Post up some thoughts people!

Nominating and voting this early in the season would be unfair. With so few owners participating, they may not know there are nominations and voting going on.
If CO's are appointed for a short duration 30 day, 60 days, or 90 days, they can get momentun going and by June, if/when we have 100+ active participants, there's a better chance for more diverse nominations and more participation in voting.
If it happens now, maybe the 20 or 30 currently active people nominate and vote. Come June/July when the owners start coming out of hibernation and see what happened in April and they weren't apart of it risks alienation of those owners/members and risks their participation.

I for one am all about the meets.
My first meet was a FWT it was the best meet ever. I have grown to love this community because of these kinds of meets.
I say we continue and have ourselves some "big" meets like that of the past. I have spoken to a lot of people and they keep asking me why these meets were discontinued.
I am a fan of exercising a vote for major , issues , changes and direction. I exercise this right myself. With that said "if you build it, they will come" well lets put our game faces on .
This community is not going to build itself up. I have seen so much community involvement these past weeks . Lets keep that going. This is just a thought , but we used to have meets EVERY Thursday/week. I would like to see that come back. IT would not matter where we are/were meeting it was Thursday and I knew S2ki would be doing something so I freed up my schedule for any such event. For those that could not make it a Saturday morning meet was made as well. Those dates are not concrete this is just an example of what I have seen be successful in the past.

Just a thought, I really like the idea in the past of having a meet on Thursdays at a restaurant/sports bar. By doing so, this gives everyone a chance to bond and to get to know old and new members better. And I know due to schedule conflict some of us may not be able to attend to this meets during the week. So I think we should also schedule a meet every last Saturday of the month therefore everyone can plan accordingly with their work or school schedule. I believe the more interaction we’re going to have the better this community will become. And I know for some of us we never even met or seen in person, but only met or communicated through S2ki.

I support the idea of at least 1 CO for each state. This CO will set up local meets and get to know the locals a lot better. Once a month when we plan huge interstate meets, All the CO's get together and can think of plans that will cater to as many members as possible.
However....We could also be over thinking this.
Just get together and have fun. If someone is an ass hat. Ignore them. Grow up people this isn't Junior High.
