I wouldn't trade it in if you have a good amount of mods on your car. Dealer wont give you the value of those mods with the trade in. I was going to trade in my s2000 during the summer to get a family car but but they were only going to give me $12,000 for my car and they wanted the car the they way it sat with my mode on the the car with my rims. So I said no. Also it will be hard to sell your car with the winter season coming. I've been trying to sell mine for about a year now with no real serious buyers. I'm thinking about parting out my mods next spring and taking it back to oem stock and than trading it in or selling it that way.
